T4 gp32

T4 gp32 is a single-strand DNA binding protein essential for T4 phage DNA replication, repair, and recombination. Single-strand binding protein removes secondary structure in single-stranded DNA by binding cooperatively, thus allowing efficient synthesis by DNA polymerases and other proteins dependent on single-stranded DNA structure. Gp32 protein interacts with T4 gp41 helicase  (GP4110) and gp59 helicase loader  proteins to unwind double-stranded DNA. Also used in reactions with uvsX (UX1090) and uvsY (UY1100) .

 

T4 gp32 protein is purified from  E. coli which contains T4gp32 (6xHIS) expressing plasmid.
